Mid-March and the sun was out so after breakfast we went for a stroll around Hafan y Mor. The development is coming along nicely, hopefully only a few more weeks until it is all finished and open.
We had a wander down to the beach so that the kids could skim some stones, to our surprise, there were even people swimming in the sea, it was warm, but we decided not to join them 😊. Instead we had a stroll around and pebbles were splashed in the water.
Lunch time was approaching, and with the Coast House not quite ready to feed us, we decided to take a trip out to Criccieth. There was quite a large group of us, so we thought it best to book into Dylan's Restaurant , a fairly new Art Deco style standalone restaurant and bar fronting onto the beach. We have been to Dylan's a few times in the past, and they never disappoint. This time was no different.
We arrived around 1:30pm and were quickly seated at a window table with a view of the seashore. After perusing the extensive menu , I chose the Trio of Pork and a pint of Wrexham Larger. Good choice! The food was delicious and the beer very nice.
After the main course we were too full for pudding, so finished up our drinks, paid the bill and went for a walk along the beach, skimming a few stones with Criccieth Castle in the background.
We continued along the promenade, up to the high street and had a final drink in the Lion Hotel before heading back to Hafan Y Mor.
After a short taxi journey, we were back on site and in the Boardwalk. The kids had a play on the arcade games while the grownups enjoyed another drink in the bar. After that we were all quite tired, so a walk back to Forest Lodge past the lake and settled down for the evening in the comfort of our cosy lodge.
The perfect Saturday 😊.
