An Afternoon in Abersoch

Lunch then a stroll along the beach

A 20 minute drive along the coast and you can be in the sailing and surfing town of Abersoch. Abersoch is an old fishing port which is now a popular holiday town. There are lots of bars, restaurants cafes and ice-cream parlours, there is also a large sandy beach with quaint beach huts lining the edge.

We drove to Abersoch from Hafan y Mor early April and spent a very pleasant afternoon there. Parking can be an issue later on in the season, but at this time and during the week, we didn't have a problem. We walked through the town looking for a dog friendly venue and decide on St Tudwals Inn. The pub is in a great location and has a pool table which keeps the kids happy.

After lunch we had a stroll through the town and onto the beach.

Just up the hill at the side of the petrol station and over the brow is Abersoch's long and sandy beach. Popular for water sports the beach has clean waters, golden sands and is lined with picturesque beach huts. We spent a good hour strolling along the sandy shore.

After the beach, we walked back to the car, picking up an ice-cream each on the way.

Abersoch is a beautiful village, but be warned, it is very popular in summer.
